Settings

Configure how MotionLab looks and manage your license and account. Saved to {USER_DATA}/MotionLab/settings.json.

Appearance

Three sliders shape the panel theme on the fly:

• Accent Color — hue slider; sets the primary highlight color used throughout the panel.
• Background — hue + saturation sliders for the panel background.
• Glow — intensity slider for text and icon glow. Lower for a cleaner look, higher for an arcade feel.
• Font Size — base text size for the panel.
• Button Layout — toggle "Compact Mode" to hide button text and enlarge icons. Applied pre-paint on init so there's no flash.

Layer Label Colors

Pick the AE label color applied to each type of layer MotionLab adds. Five layer types are configurable:

• Null, Solid, Adjustment, Text, Pre-Comp

Click a swatch to open a 16-color popover (or "None" to leave AE's default). Saved per type; applied on every new layer of that type from then on.

License Key

Paste your license key here and click Activate. Status flips green when accepted, and tabs unlock based on your tier. See License & Tiers for tier details.

Account

Shows your active license tier, account email, and full license key (click to copy). Sign out to free up a device slot.

About

Shows the current MotionLab version. Links to release notes and the support form.

Where settings live

All settings persist to {USER_DATA}/MotionLab/settings.json. Backups and per-machine copies work — just back up the entire MotionLab/ folder under user data to capture settings plus all saved presets, curves, shakes, and flashes.
